Stellantis adopts Tesla's charging plug

Feb. 15, 2024
Stellantis becomes the last of the major automakers to adopt Tesla's EV charging plug.

Stellantis announced it will adopt Tesla's charging plug, the NACS (North American Charging System), starting with EV models coming in 2025, reports CNET.

Stellantis is now the last major automaker to do so.

According to a release issued by the automaker, its adoption of the NACS comes as part of its participation in the joint venture seven-automaker EV charging mega network, which will also support the NACS plug across its 30,000 charge points being built by 2030.

It is reported that Stellantis will provide adapters to EV customers with CCS (combined charging standard) plugs during the transition.

The automaker will then begin incorporating select 2026 model-year vehicles with native NACS support and hardware.
