This bulletin applies to 2016-2021 Chevy Spark vehicles equipped with a 1.4L LV7 engine. You may experience a possible no-start/no crank or extended crank condition along with DTC P0014, P0017, P0365 and/or P0366.
Complete the latest diagnostics in service information for “Engine Cranks But Does Not Run.” If unable to determine the root cause using published SI diagnostics, proceed with the following:
Remove the cam cover assembly and perform the following steps to confirm exhaust camshaft reluctor orientation. During disassembly, the vacuum pump drive lugs should also be inspected for damage.
Remove the exhaust camshaft to position the 2D matrix marking on the camshaft hex in the 12 o’clock position. With the matric marking at 12 o’clock, verify the small tang on the cam reluctor ring is in line with the 2D matrix mark. If you find that the vacuum pump drive lugs are broken and/or the exhaust cam reluctor ring is out of position, replace the exhaust camshaft and the vacuum pump.
